South Burnaby Neighbourhood House Annual Report

This is an annual report I designed for the South Burnaby Neighbourhood House. The biggest challenge on this project was presenting so much information, while still making it visually appealing. I used red boxes to separate information and make it easier to read, and added photos so it didn't seem like it was a page of nothing but text. I also suggested to the author the use of headings in the highlights section to break up the bullet points. I prepared the images in Photoshop, then imported them into InDesign.

Programs used: Photoshop, InDesign.

Nelson Construction and Renovations front page of brochure

Nelson Construction & Renovations Brochure (Tri-fold)

This is a tri-fold brochure I did for Results Professional Marketing for their client Nelson Construction & Renovations. The challenge of the tri-fold brochure was fitting a large amount of information in the space while still putting the focus on the beautiful images that spoke about their work. The content was taken by condensing the information from the website and made easily readable by making the headings red (a colour taken from their logo). I prepared the images in Photoshop, then imported them into InDesign.

Nelson Construction and Renovations e-brochure cover page

Nelson Construction & Renovations e-Brochure
(multi-page)

This is an e-brochure (multi-page online brochure) I did for Results Professional Marketing for their client Nelson Construction & Renovations. The content was again taken by condensing the information from the website. The challenge I had in preparing this brochure was choosing content from the website in order to fit onto one page for each service offered. I broke up the text by adding testimonials and small photos. Again, I placed emphasis on the beautiful work they produce by placing a beauty shot on each page. I prepared the images in Photoshop, then imported them into InDesign.

Programs used: Photoshop, InDesign.

South Burnaby Neighbourhood House Presentation Board for 2007

South Burnaby Neighbourhood House Presentation Boards

These are presentation boards I did for South Burnaby Neighbourhood House in honour of the 10th Year Anniversary of their Diamond Ball. I designed 10 posters for the all the years the Neighbourhood House has been in existence (1995-2014). The biggest challenge with this project was fitting up to 3 years on one poster, yet still maintaining a consistent look. I differentiated between the different boards by selecting a different main/accent colour on each one, but still ensuring all the colours were compatible. I prepared the images in Photoshop, then imported them into Illustrator.

Programs used: Photoshop, Illustrator.

Festival of the Arts Ad

This is an ad I designed as a final project for my Colour Theory Graphics class. I was challenged with using a tetrad colour scheme. I did this by using the tertiary yellow-green and its complementary tertiary of red-violet, and completing the tetrad by using the secondary colour of orange and its complement, blue. In addition to the lively colours, I added a swoosh which implies movement and draws the eye through the space.

Vector Portrait

Using a photo as reference I created a vector portrait of myself. I first did the face base as the highlights, then did the darks and then mid-darks and light darks of the face. I did the hair the opposite way with a dark base, then the highlights, then the mid-darks.

Programs used: Illustrator.

Top 10 Native Plants Infographic

This project was done for my Advanced Illustrator/Photoshop class and incorporated many of the techniques we learned in class such as text along a path, masking, creating symbols/patterns and graphing. I used green as the main colour as it is the colour of nature which is relevant to the topic of plants.

Programs used: Illustrator, Photoshop.
